Acrylic, ink, and pastel

This is a mixed media piece where I used a layer of ink underneath first. This allows me to add drops of water to add detail where the ink comes through the dark pastel. I used light blue and pale pink to accentuate the hair. The eyes appear closed and peaceful. The colors of the painting are bright pink and blended with vibrant orange. The drips of water give the overall feel a dreamy look. I love painting flowing hair, as if it has a life of its own.
