This piece is part of Danielle’s ‘intuitive’ painting process. She explains, “I approach each canvas without expectation and simply choose materials I am drawn to that day. As the layers continue I watch and look for something to emerge. I prefer to tease the idea or image out slowly, to allow the piece to take it on its own life.” The figure in this one holds the chin high, underneath within the ‘body’ of the figure lines and texture tell a story of transformation and change. Danielle’s use of mixed media and texture bring the ideas of change to life.
