Stained Glass - Kin
Stained Glass - Kin
‘Kin’ is an abstract painting in the ‘Stained Glass’ series. Here, Danielle plays with line and color. The lines intersect and don’t quite meet the upper edge. A rich blue is evident under the bright white. The green lines are patchy and muted in places. “I was thinking about family, and growth. How our lives cross over one another from time to time, but we come from the same root and still must go our own direction. Who knows what the future holds?” And what about the title? “When I think of growth, I think of sprouts. Baby shoots that sprout up with encouragement and new life. Sprouts in families are children, our kin. Likewise, all plant and animal life is our kin, our family, an extension of ourselves.” This painting holds many meanings for the viewer to interpret, whether it be nature or family, simple lines or architecture.
