This painting has a very watery dreamlike feel to it. There is a lot of texture with drips and drops. Danielle uses a mix of different materials to create this ethereal effect. “I use material how they tell you not to,” she explains. “I use whatever I can get my hands on and use my creative time to experiment and play. I am interested in how materials interact with one another. I try not to have a specific idea in mind and let the material speak through me.” The combination of materials on this piece give it an underwater kind of feel. The colors are soft and muted, yet very textural with the drips and drops. It appears thin and light in places. “For me, this is flow. This is what it feels like to create and feel the power of creation. It is a calm surrender.”
