This is a cool, calm painting. The bright white and black contrasting one another. I wanted to use a limited palette with this one. I think more often than not, I choose the most vibrant and intense colors. With this one I wanted to keep it bright and clean with simply black and white. I do think that black and white can be very vibrant and intense as well, but in another way. There are so many shades and tones of both black and white. With this painting, behind the trees is more crisp white that the surrounding white. I cut through the paint with a sharp tool to create fine lines up close.
