This is a painting of the power of the moon. Have you ever been out at night and the moon illuminates the landscape? Even in the dark of night the moon can light up the landscape. I used ink to stain the acrylic paint. This gives the paint a lighter, more translucent look through the purple. A bit of blue ink adds detail to the moon. I used black paint for the underpainting. Upon closer inspection, you will see dark purple and dark blue clouds in the sky. This creates an added dimension in person. I never know what I am going to paint with this sort of painting. I allow the materials to lead the way.
