This abstract tree painting is part of a series of paintings I created based around a Rumi poem. Underneath the tree, you can see the texture of the poem written below. The shapes of the letters appear from below. I used thick acrylic paint and imagined laying under a tree, the bark gnarly and tough, yet the shape of the tree itself is feminine and lyrical.
