Acrylic, pastel, and ink

This is a very peaceful serene painting. Not only does the figure have a peaceful expression, but the colors of the painting are subtle and calming. I layered ink and acrylic allowing the ink underneath to stain the paint above. It creates a blurry almost dreamy feel to it. I used a purple pastel to add matte detail to the painting. I added more details with a white pastel on the nose, lips, and chin. The angle of the face is calm and peaceful, hence the title.
