‘Warrior’ is a mixed media piece, giving it texture and fluidity. The drips of ink appear frozen in time, as if the painting were still in creation. The pastel lines are chunky and patchy in places creating a dreamlike image. Paint creates opaque areas and thin layers ink are dotted with spots and drips that contribute to the mystical feel. The artist explains, “I saw her lips first and slowly added layers to define a face. Her gaze is strong and unafraid, telling me she is a warrior.
