Ink, acrylic and pastel

This painting is so fun! It seems playful and humorous to me. It is very textural and has a lot of movement to it. I started with a solid black canvas and added acrylic and ink over it. I used a variety of tools to cut through the paint to make lines and gestures. The little fox just popped out at me, and I couldn’t help but tease it out. The fox is mostly done with ink, allowing the drips of water to show through, creating a dreamy underwater sort of feel.
